Welcome

I have served as both a newspaper reporter and a public relations professional, which has provided me with a unique insight into successfully writing and editing compelling content that conveys key messages to diverse audiences.

During my six-year career as a journalist for local to mid-size newspapers, I wrote thousands of articles in AP style, covering a wide-range of subjects, including agriculture, law enforcement, politics and human interest. I often wrote articles under a tight deadline and regularly had to write in a clear and concise manner to accommodate the newspaper's space restrictions.

In addition to writing for the print product, I was among the first reporters at the Athens Banner-Herald to regularly blog about my beat and connect with readers. I was also the first reporter to publish video news stories on the newspaper's Web site to accompany the online version of my articles.

In my personal time, I am the editor of Railfanning.org, a Web site dedicated to my hobby of trains. I manage all content and develop new features, including still photographs, podcasts and a video blog.
